CharityKnowHow
Kenley, Surrey, CR8 5NY
Are you hoping to start a charity, which will thrive? Do you want to make your existing charity as effective as possible? CharityKnowHow can help you! CharityKnowHow is run by Nigel Geary-Andrews. Through working at the Charity Commission for over 16 years and lately through CharityKnowHow, Nigel Geary-Andrews is well qualified to provide detailed help, assistance, training and advice to charity trustees and staff helping them to ensure they follow best governance practice, and that they operate within the law. Specifically, CharityKnowHow offers the following: Assistance with establishing a charity, including advising on the most appropriate legal structure, help with drafting a suitable governing document, ensuring the organisation's purposes are charitable according to the law, and ensuring good governance procedures are developed and introduced at the outset. Help with getting charities registered with the Charity Commission if they are legally required to do so. Nigel knows the Commission's procedures and requirements very well, and can represent the trustees in their dealings with the Commission. A full range of advice and assistance to existing charities too. This ranges from verbal advice and formal written advice up to full governance reviews and the drafting of policies. Nigel is also available to provide training to trustees concerning their legal duties. Services concerning ensuring legal compliance. The law relating to charities is wide-ranging and can be complex, and the Charity Commission is increasingly unable to provide detailed, bespoke advice to trustees to guide them. However, failure to follow the law can lead to the Charity Commission exercising its extensive legal powers in relation to a charity, and can lead to trustees being held personally financially liable for any breaches of trust they have committed. Nigel has extensive experience of advising charities about how to comply with the law, and guiding them to providing the information the Charity Commission expects to see.
